Research groups from Texas Tech Health Science Center and The University of Alberta utilized the Synthecon Rotary Cell Culture system, a 3D bioreactor to co-culture primary meniscus cells and adipose-derived MSCs.

The study demonstrated that simulated microgravity conditions within the RCCS enhanced cartilaginous matrix formation in the culture.

These findings provide an exciting potential path to replace damaged meniscus tissue in patients.
